911 Emergency fee

By now everyone has probably seen the $3.00 Emergency 911 fee on their bills.  This fee was collected on landline telephone bills.  The major use of cell phones and the decline of landlines, resulted in a loss of funding for local 911 services.  This loss prompted the fiscal court to pass an ordinance requiring local water offices to act as the collection agency for obtaining this fee.  Every water account will be charged this monthly fee.  Once paid, the funds will be sent to the fiscal court monthly.   If you have questions or concerns, please contact the Muhlenberg County Fiscal Court at 270-338-2520.
